Tax credit workshop available for small businesses

STOCKTON — Business owners and managers in the Central Valley can learn about income tax credits available to help businesses grow at a workshop March 21.

San Joaquin County WorkNet, along with the city of Stockton, SJC Hispanic Chamber, Greater Stockton Chamber, SJ Partnership, EDD, and event sponsor Manex are presenting the workshop.

The California Competes Tax Credit is an income tax credit available to all businesses that want to grow and do business in California. The amount of credits awarded over the next year and a half is more than $180 million.  A quarter of the credits will be dedicated to small businesses.  There are many businesses in San Joaquin County that could be eligible to receive these tax credits.  This workshop is intended to help them through the application process.
