In their health centers, always in the afternoon and after having been summoned by phone. These are the main characteristics of the vaccination protocol that the Community of Madrid has designed to start immunizing, starting this Thursday, those over 80 years of age who live outside of nursing homes.
The Ministry of Health will begin calling their homes this Wednesday to give them an appointment. It will be a task that will last for several days: it is estimated that this group is made up of more than 350,000 people in the region.
The nurses of the health centers will call the members of this group by phone and give them an appointment to be vaccinated at their health center of reference. The summons will always be in the afternoon, specifically from 3.30 to 7.30 p.m., and the elderly may be accompanied by a family member or caregiver.
The approach designed by the department headed by Enrique Ruiz Escudero goes through quote about 15,000 seniors every day. All will be administered the Pfizer vaccine, the vials of which will be served daily to health centers, with doses and syringes adjusted to the list of older people to be vaccinated.
More than 600 Primary Care nurses have received training to carry out this arduous task, which will last for several weeks.
