MODESTO — Memorial Medical Center, part of the Sutter Health network, has been named a Consumer Choice Award winner for the 12th year in a row, the hospital announced Nov. 5.

“The Consumer Choice award is something we value and appreciate,” said Daryn Kumar, Memorial Medical Center chief executive officer. “We take our commitment to our patients seriously, and put their care at the heart of every decision we make. When that commitment is recognized by our community members, and we are honored with the Consumer Choice Award, we feel that we are on track with our never-ending efforts to provide safe, quality, affordable care.”

In addition, Memorial was chosen Stanislaus County residents’ Most Preferred Hospital in overall quality and image for 2013/2014.

Every year the National Research Corporation recognizes hospitals rated by consumers as having the best quality and image, based on their nationally syndicated Market Insights study of over 270,000 households.

Hospitals are rated on best overall quality, best image/reputation, best doctors, and best nurses.

“Every single person on our staff at Memorial plays a crucial role in making sure we provide quality health care to our patients,” said Alfredo Montelongo, M.D., Memorial Medical Center chief of staff. “As a physician, I see every day how our team interacts, and how that translates into the high level of care we can provide. Knowing that our community also recognizes it, via these types of awards, is very gratifying. We appreciate the feedback from our community.”
