TURLOCK — Parents attending the Stanislaus County Fair will have a new place to care for their young children this year.
The Fair is partnering with Emanuel Medical Center to provide the Mommy and Me Lounge inside one of the buildings where parents can change and nurse their babies in a relaxed, enclosed facility.
“We have been looking to move the mommy and me tent for a while and creating an area for parents to take care of their young children inside one of our buildings,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “We are excited to partner with Emanuel Medical Center.”
The Mommy and Me Lounge will be located inside the old photography building near concessions row, across from the Bud Light Variety Free Stage. The lounge will offer three stations for nursing mothers along with a reclining couch and table, the Fair said. It will also include a play area for children; a changing station in the restrooms; and high chairs for feedings.
The lounge will be open daily during the Fair from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. on weekdays and noon – 9 p.m. on weekends.
The 2014 Stanislaus County Fair opens Friday, July 11 for a 10-day run at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds in Turlock.
