livestock stanislaus county fairTURLOCK – Local bidders will have the chance to take home some of the county’s finest livestock at the Stanislaus County Fair’s 48th Annual Replacement Heifer Sale on Friday, July 10.

The 50th Annual Junior Livestock Auction is Saturday, July 18 at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds, located at 900 N. Broadway in Turlock.

Buyers may pre-register for the sale and auction at the fair’s exhibit office, in the Costco Commercial Exhibits Building E-2, until 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 16.

“The 4-H and FFA exhibitors take the utmost care for their animals all year and many of them use the money raised at the Heifer Sale and Junior Livestock Auction for their college fund,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokeswoman for the Stanislaus County Fair. “I think bidders would find it difficult obtaining animals that are better fed and better cared for than those exhibited at the Stanislaus County Fair.”

The 48th Annual Replacement Heifer Sale is Friday following the Heifer Preview, which begins at 7 p.m. in the Thurman Pavilion.

Rabbits, poultry, market beef, swine, sheep and goats will be auctioned at the 51st Annual Junior Livestock Auction, 8 a.m., Saturday, July 18.

Catalogs for the 2015 Replacement Heifer Sale are available now in the fair’s livestock office at the fairgrounds near the Soderquist Road entrance.

Catalogs for the Junior Livestock Auction will be available the morning of the auction and will be distributed during bidder registration and check-in.

More than 1,500 4-H and FFA animals are entered in the 2015 Stanislaus County Fair.
