RIVERBANK — Construction on the expansion of Riverbank’s Crossroads shopping center is moving fast. The basic building is nearly done and soon the tenants will go in to make the five spaces their own.
In fact, Panda Express has already started the hiring process and will conduct interviews Saturday. The fast food Chinese restaurant is hiring a general manager, assistant managers and service and kitchen workers.
According to the sign posted on the building, general managers make $48,000 a year and up; assistant managers make $13.50 an hour; and other workers start at $10 an hour.
Interviews will be conduct on site at the shopping center at the corner of Oakdale and Claribel roads from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Incidentally, while I was at the construction site this morning, I talked to Paden & Bletscher construction supervisor Joe Johnson who had nothing but nice things to say about working in Riverbank. He said the whole process has been very pleasant and there has been no theft from the site, which, apparently is pretty unusual. In fact, he said they accidentally left an expensive construction level in the parking lot one evening and when he came back the next morning it was still there. It’s great he has a positive story to take back to Fresno.
