SAN FRANCISCO — California vineyards and wineries can now apply for the 2016 California Green Medal: Sustainable Winegrowing Leadership Awards. Applications are being accepted at the Green Medal website.

The awards are presented by the Lodi Winegrape Commission, California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance (CSWA), California Association of Winegrape Growers, Wine Institute, Napa Valley Vintners, Sonoma County Winegrowers and The Vineyard Team.

Vineyards and wineries that participate in any sustainability program available in California are eligible to apply in four award categories. The categories include leadership, environment, community and business.

“We had stellar applications the first year, and look forward to receiving 2016 applications,” said Allison Jordan, CSWA executive director in a press release. “The awards provide a terrific opportunity for California growers and vintners to be recognized for their hard work and dedication to sustainability,”
