HealthSouth names new executive for hospital

MODESTO — HealthSouth has named Kay Peck the new executive officer of the future HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Modesto.

The hospital will be a 50-bed inpatient physical rehabilitation center, located at 1303 Mable Ave. The facility is scheduled to open in late June.

The hospital will help patients recover from conditions such as stroke and other neurological disorders, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, complex orthopedic conditions and cardiac and pulmonary conditions.

Peck will oversee all of the hospital’s day-to-day operations as well as patient quality and care. She spent the last 20 years in a variety of management roles at Kindred Healthcare in San Antonio. She has a bachelor’s degree in business and finance and a Master’s degree in healthcare administration from Trinity University. She also earned a Doctorate of public policy/epidemiology from the University of Texas School of Public Health.
