Lodi man sentenced for embezzlement and tax evasion

LODI — David William Dixon was sentenced Wednesday to four years in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation for felony grand theft and felony tax evasion.

On Dec. 16, Dixon pled guilty to embezzling money from real-estate investment firm Rockvale Brothers LLC and vintage car refurbishing company Classic Cache LP of Lodi. He also pled guilty to not paying state income taxes.

Dixon will repay nearly $700,000 to the embezzlement victims and $49,021 in back taxes, interest, penalties and investigation costs on top of the four year prison term.

Dixon stole the money, while working as a bookkeeper, by writing more than 700 checks to himself during several years of employment at the companies. He was also charged for not reporting the money he was stealing on his income taxes.

Dixon also faces unrelated charges in federal court for money laundering.
