WASHINGTON — U.S. Representative Jeff Denham will host two veterans benefit workshops next week. The first workshop will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., July 26 at the American Legion Post 190, 206 S. Stockton Ave. in Ripon. The second will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, July 27 at the Turlock VFW Post 5059, located at 1405 E. Linwood Ave.
The Turlock Republican will partner with the San Joaquin and Stanislaus County Veterans Service Offices to host the workshops. Representatives from the Modesto Vet Center will provide information about counseling. Officials will also be available to answer questions about Medicare and Social Security.
Attendees can connect with the congressman’s staff and the local veterans service offices. Veterans can ask questions, get help with individual cases and receive additional information on benefits.
“Providing the men and women who wore the cloth of this nation with the best possible care is one of my top priorities, which is why I’m dedicated not only to ensuring that we have accessible facilities, but also that our veterans are provided with resources to help navigate the Department of Veterans Affairs,” Congressman Denham said in a press release. “Our partnership with the San Joaquin and Stanislaus County Veterans Services Office to assist the Central Valley’s veterans is just one of the many ways that we can demonstrate our gratitude and thanks for their service.”
Denham’s office and the veterans affairs office assists veterans with claims and acts as advocates.
