WASHINGTON — Rep. Jeff Denham, R-Turlock, will continue his role as Railroads, Pipelines & Hazardous Materials subcommittee chairman in the current Congress, his office announced Thursday.
“I’m honored and excited to continue my work as chairman of the Railroads, Pipelines & Hazardous Materials subcommittee, especially as we begin working with a new administration on outlining infrastructure priorities,” said Denham. “I also look forward to ensuring that the Valley’s agriculture and water priorities are represented and heard through my work on the Agriculture and Natural Resource committees.”
The subcommittee is part of the House Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure. Denham has chaired the subcommittee since 2013.
Denham shepherded the passage of legislation that strengthened safety regulations for the nation’s pipeline network. He has also presided over hearings on the progress of California’s high-speed rail project where he has opposed the current funding plan.
Denham is also on the House Natural Resources and the Agriculture committees.
