San Joaquin County Office of Education names new deputy superintendent

STOCKTON — Scott Anderson, the San Ramon Valley Unified School District’s chief business officer, will be the San Joaquin County Office of Education’s next deputy superintendent of business services.

Anderson will replace Jim Thomas, who will retire at the end of June.

“We are excited to welcome Scott Anderson to the SJCOE team,” said San Joaquin County Superintendent of Schools James Mousalimas. “He brings with him extensive experience as a chief business officer, and I have confidence in his ability to take on the important role of overseeing the management of taxpayer funds in the support of education in San Joaquin County.”

Anderson has been chief business officer at the San Ramon Valley Unified School District since 2013.

He previously worked in public education as the division director of operations at San Joaquin County Office of Education from 2011-13; chief business officer of the Brentwood Union School District from 2005-11; and as director of business services at Manteca Unified School District from 2000-05.  He also worked in private industry after receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree from CSU Fresno.

Anderson lives in Manteca with his wife. Their two adult children also live in Manteca, where they went to school and are now teachers.
