Who needs a Batmobile?
If you’re dressed as Batman or any other superhero headed to StocktonCon the weekend of Aug. 20, 2017, you don’t. San Joaquin Regional Transit District will be offering costum-clad attendees rides for free to the popular comic convention.
The transit system has entered into an agreement with StocktonCon and Utility Telecom to offer the free service August 19-20.
Attendees can get to the Stockton Arena – the venue for StocktonCon – by take Route 40. Routes 40 and 745 connect with 40.
The event is held to raise awareness of outstanding artists in the San Joaquin Valley and to give event-goers the ability to experience comics, games, toys, TV shows, movies and other popular culture items that have come to define StocktonCon. It was also recently picked by Visit Stockton as its Tourism Partner of the Year.
“We are very excited to participate in such a fun event for our community and visitors from out of town,” said RTD CEO Donna DeMartino. “Everyone at RTD is thrilled to work with our friends at StocktonCon to make big dreams come true.”
It’s estimated that there will be 8,000 attendees at this year’s event, which features a costume contest, art show, celebrity autograph signings and video game tournaments.
