The Stockton General Plan Update “Envision Stockton” will begin focusing on finding ways to make the downtown area more vibrant and active.
Members of the community are invited to participate in the workshop being held July 11, 2-3 p.m. at the Downtown Stockton Alliance, 125 Bridge Place, third floor.
The workshop will focus on infill development and revitalizing the downtown core. Those in attendance will be encouraged to share their ideas on how the area can be better utilized.
“We are looking forward to speaking with and learning from business owners and residents who are personally invested in building on downtown’s current amenities,” said David Stagnaro, Planning Manager for the City of Stockton, in a statement. “We need input from a variety of perspectives to make downtown a better place to live, work and play.”
Leaders involved in the new General Plan believe that there needs to be extensive community involvement to create a better plan. The General Plan, called “Envision Stockton,” will be used as the blueprint for future decisions regarding land use, community services, mobility, housing and resource conversation over the next 20 years.
