Series will address San Joaquin County issues

The San Joaquin Council of Governments will host a speaker series focusing on issues being faced by the region.

On July 18, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., SJCOG will hold a lunch and talk focusing on the health of county communities. Barbara Alberson, Senior Deputy Director of Policy and Planning for San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Lianne Dillon, Deputy Program Director for the Public Health Institute of California Strategic Growth Council and Michael Nguyen, Senior Government Affairs Representative of the Health Plan of San Joaquin, will speak about issues facing residents’ health.

The panel will speak about the impact of air quality, obesity and new health indicators, among other topics.

Future seminars will focus on a regional transportation plan and sustainable communities strategy.
