The American Association of Port Authorities has recognized the Port of Stockton for its work in communications. The honor will be formally presented in a luncheon ceremony in Long Beach this October.
The Port of Stockton is being honored for Overall Excellence for the best video, an Award of Excellence for the Best Annual Report and awards of distinction in all seven categories to which the port submitted entries.
“Our goal is to market the Port and inform decision makers and the public about the vital role the Port of Stockton plays in linking California’s Central Valley to the world,” said Richard Aschieris, Port Director for the Port of Stockton. “We also seek to inform our community of the Port’s environmental programs and our support of a variety of community charitable initiatives.”
Aschieris went on to say that receiving the awards shows how the Port of Stockton is effectively communicating its goals to the local and global communities.
The video entry being accoladed is “Advantage Stockton – Port of Opportunity.” It received the highest rated entry in any category for this year’s AAPA awards, according to a statement released by the Port of Stockton.
The Port also received two awards for advertising. It was lauded for its campaigns covering the Delta Environmental Enhancement Program and “A Peek at the Port.”
