TRACY—The City Council voted in a closed-door session on Sept. 19 to remove City Manager Troy Brown.
No reason was given for the termination, which was effective Sept. 20. Tracy Fire Chief Randall Bradley was then voted in as interim city manager in a 4-1 vote.
“I want to thank Troy Brown for his service to the City of Tracy,” said Robert Rickman, mayor of Tracy in a statement. “We wish him well on his future endeavors.”
According to the city, Brown began his employment with Tracy on Sept. 2, 2014. Discussions surrounding the termination will not be released under protections provided by the Brown Act.
“I am pleased that the City Council had the confidence in me to provide the required leadership needed to provide organizational stability during this time of transition,” Bradley said in a statement. “We will focus on continuing to move the council initiatives forward while ensuring the city is managed in a safe and effective manner.”
Division Chief David Bramwell will serve as interim fire chief in Bradley’s absence.
