Looking for a job this holiday season?

Macy’s plans to hire 87,000 employees this holiday season in stores across the country, including hires at Central Valley locations — Modesto, Stockton and Tracy.

The number of anticipated hires is far and above previous year’s hiring sprees. In fact, it’s the largest expected hiring season of the decade for the retail giant.

Seasonal hires at Macy’s have been declining year over year since 2014. Originally, it was announced the company would only add 80,000 seasonal employees in 2017. However, someone somewhere had a change of heart and 7,000 additional planned hires were added.

Seasonal support at all Macy’s locations is included to handle extra crowds during the holiday season, mostly in the form of retail associates. However, not all available positions are the same.

West Valley Mall in Tracy is looking to add a team lead, administrative support and a loss prevention detective in addition to part-time, full-time and flex sales associates.

In Stockton at Sherwood Mall and Modesto at Vintage Faire Mall, the Finish Line store inside Macy’s needs holiday sales support.

Seasonal associates are often granted a flexible schedule with availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, etc. on a temporary basis. Seasonal jobs often, but do not always, end after the holidays.
