A proposed project to repair the 7th Street Bridge in Modesto has a draft environmental assessment up for public review.
On Feb. 15, members of the public are invited to review and comment on the Draft Environmental Assessment for the project. The meeting is from 6-7:30 p.m., 1010 Tenth Street, in Modesto.
The open house-style meeting will be held in the Basement Training Room.
Stanislaus County is working in conjunction with the City of Modesto and the California Department of Transportation on the project.
According to a statement released by the agencies, “Caltrans and Stanislaus County staff members have studied the effects this project may have on the environment. The studies show it will not significantly affect the quality of the environment … The proposed work may affect historic properties eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. Caltrans and Stanislaus County staff members are evaluating alternatives to determine if the project can avoid adversely affecting the property/properties or, if not, if adequate mitigation measures can be incorporated into the project plans.”
Members of the public will have a chance to give their input on design and the environmental process with agencies’ staff. Right-of-way property purchases will also be discussed.
