Confidence has a tendency to breed success, and few things can bolster confidence like a sharp suit or fashionable blouse and skirt.
California State University Stanislaus in Turlock and JC Penney at Vintage Faire Mall in Modesto are teaming up to help students dress confidently for success.
Countless studies have been done on the psychology of nice clothes and confidence, and not just for the person wearing them. One study conducted by Psychology Today showed where people made snap judgements based on how others were dressed.
On Feb. 24, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., JC Penney will host its JCP Suit-Up Event, offering UpShop Career Dress Apparel for CSUS students at a discount. According to a statement released by Stanislaus, students will be able to find “everything you need to finish your look for that next interview or new job, including suits, dresses, sports coats, dress pants, shoes and accessories.”
There will be giveaways and prizes, Sephora in JC Penney will be offering free mini makeovers and the salon will be giving free consultations and Xpress Bar hair touch up.
Students will need to remember their student identification cards to get a special discount card.
