Phaedra Norton, city attorney for the City of Turlock, submitted her resignation on Feb. 14 to the mayor and city council.
Norton, whose last day will be March 14, has been the city attorney for Turlock since 2008.
“It has been my privilege to serve this community a City Attorney for close to 10 years,” Norton said in a statement issued by the City Manager’s office. “My time here in Turlock has been the most rewarding of my professional career and I am proud of the many goals and accomplishments that I have been a part of.”
Norton went on to state that the community’s leadership is dedicated to its continued success.
“Phaedra Norton is one of the finest City Attorneys in the region,” said Mayor Gary Soiseth in a statement. “It has been an honor and privilege to work alongside her, but I am happy for the new opportunities that have come her way. Phaedra will be missed by her entire Turlock community.”
Meyer Nave was selected by the city council as the interim city attorney.
