The coronavirus has caused in the last 24 hours almost 50,000 new infected, bringing the global number of cases to 462,684, according to the most recent data from the World Health Organization (WHO).
Deaths total 20,834 worldwide. An increase in this day of 2,401 deaths with respect to the previous one.
The countries and territories that have reported between one and thousands of cases to the WHO are 199, which implies that the coronavirus is practically worldwide.
The fastest spread of the virus is undoubtedly occurring in the United States, which is close to 65,000 cases, which means more than 11,000 in a single day, while the deaths have already exceeded a thousand.
China remains the country with the most affected with 81,961 cases, of which 113 were reported in the last 24 hours, a large part of them from people from abroad. For this reason, the government has temporarily and from today banned the entry of foreigners, including those with visas and residence permits.
Italy has again recorded an increase in new cases, which amount to 74,386, which represents an additional 5,210, while deaths have exceeded 8,100.
Spain is above 56,000 positive cases and 4,000 deceased.
Another country very affected by the pandemic, but from where the information is more difficult to obtain, is Iran, where more than 27,000 cases and more than 2,000 deaths are accredited.
