Magdalena Simmermacher, thanks to a second round of 67 strokes (-5), was the leader of the Estrella Damm Ladies Open presented by Catalunya on the second day, with an income of four blows on his most immediate pursuers, so he has everything going for him to win the fourth edition of the tournament at Golf Terramar.
“I have played in a very solid way, like on Friday and I have given myself many opportunities & rdquor ;, said the 25-year-old Argentine who had three birdies and a bogey in the first nine holes, before hitting three more from 14 to 16 for that round of 67 and a total of 136 (-8).
Simmemacher, who is ranked eleventh in the Race Costa del Sol ranking, could become the first Argentine to win a Ladies European Tour tournament and in a special field. “I was invited in 2019 in my first year as a pro, so it would be really nice if I can take the win,” he said.
The persecutors, four blows
The most immediate pursuers for the final day of this Sunday at Golf Terramar is led by the Spanish Maria Hernández, with a total of -4, accompanied by three other players, the Scottish Kylie Henry, the Finnish Krista Bakker and the English Gabriela Cowley.
The big favorite to win at Golf Terramar, the Danish Emily Pedersen, came into the haircut, with a total of 148 strokes (+4), and you run out of winning options. Her return of 77 strokes on the first day condemned the Dane.
This Sunday ends this fourth edition of the Estrella Damm Ladies Open, which, given the number of players in the lead, will have a new winner, and will replace the Spanish Carlota Ciganda who won in 2019.
