Murcia has tightened its measures to contain the advance of Covid-19 infections. The president of the region, Fernando López Miras, has announced that as of this Thursday “all social contact without a mask” is prohibited: Thus, all social or recreational gatherings between non-cohabitating people will be prohibited, even in homes and private vehicles.
In this way, only the encounters between those who belong to the same family nucleus living together, both indoors and outdoors.
This has been made known by the head of the Murcian Executive, in the press conference that he has offered after chairing the COVID Monitoring Commission to analyze the decisions taken in the Interterritorial Health Council.
“Stopping this wave of infections can only be achieved in one way: that is why we have decided to prohibit all social contact without a mask, because is what is causing the spread of the disease“, according to López Miras, who has admitted that they are measures that” no one likes us, but that they are essential. “
The decree that prohibits meetings between people who do not live together will enter into force starting this Thursday and will be active for a period of 14 days, according to the head of the Murcian Executive.
The rule will establish exceptions, for example for people who live alone; for the gathering of minors with their parents if they do not live at the same address; for the spouses when they don’t live in the same house; or for the care of dependents.
The press conference also took place after the meeting of the Interterritorial Health Council, in which the Murcian Government asked for power advance vaccination to those over 80 years of age that are in their homes.
