Although at the moment there is no exact release date for Diablo IV, fans of the series can’t wait to enjoy the new installment in development. As you may know, BlizzConline 2021 was held recently, where we had the opportunity to see a new trailer for this game. Similarly, Joe Shelly, lead designer of this title, revealed how long this experience will last.
In an interview with 3DJuegos, Shelly spoke about the duration of this title, as well as the change to an open world and the additional content that will be unlocked after the main quest is finished. This was what he commented:
“The main campaign of Diablo IV has events and stories that can be developed in any order, go back and complete what you have pending. Therefore, the time it may take to finish the campaign varies a lot. But if we talk about players who just want to complete the campaign quickly, we would be talking between twenty and thirty hours.
On the other hand, John Mueller, director of Diablo IV, mentioned that this installment will be open world. Although the first hours will be linear to introduce players to this world, we will quickly have the freedom to visit different areas and perform some tasks in any order.
Once the main adventure is finished, we will have access to more content. From more difficult missions, through interesting challenges, to the possibility of exploring content that pays tribute to the series. In Mueller’s words: “we came to Diablo to play hundreds and hundreds of hours.”
At the moment there is still no release date for Diablo IV. Meanwhile, you can check out the latest trailer for this title here. Similarly, it has been confirmed that Diablo II will have a remastering for consoles and PC.
