The Lleida Court has sentenced an ex-firefighter to seven years and nine months in prison and his wife to six and a half years, and to indemnify the two with 1.2 million euros to Social Security and four insurers for aggravated fraud for having simulated traffic accidents.

The sentence condemns both to pay three fines totaling 89,999 euros and a third collaborating person to ten months in prison for fraud.

The Mossos d’Esquadra detained the man and the woman in august 2017 for allegedly planning and simulating two traffic accidents in 2010 and 2015 to collect compensation of 1,024,723 euros.
