Before their return, all passengers were examined by the US authorities for possible signs of coronavirus infection.
Two flights with Mexican citizens on board arrived in Mexico City from the US this Friday. A total of 189 repatriated citizens will now be able to go to their home states.
The flights came from California and Texas. US authorities screened all passengers for signs of the coronavirus infection before allowing them to travel.
“According to the procedure, only the people who showed no signs or were asymptomatic boarded the flight,” reads a statement from the Mexican government. After their arrival, the passengers were also pre-emptively checked by International Health personnel.
According to the Mexican authorities, the return of its citizens was “a product of the coordination of the governments of Mexico and the United States and has the objective of carrying out decent repatriations, in a safe and orderly manner.”
