Juan Cala, player from Cádiz, and Mouctar Diakhaby, from Valencia, meet again in the League championship in the match that their respective teams will play this Saturday at the Nuevo Mirandilla in Cádiz, seven months after the controversy they maintained for an alleged racist insult from the player of the Cadiz club to the Mestalla team.
The incident, which was dismissed weeks later, occurred around half an hour into the match that both teams played on April 4 of this year when the scoreboard registered a provisional tie at one in a clash that Cádiz finally won 2- 1.
At one point Diakhaby denounced that Cala had called him “nigger shit & rdquor;, although no television camera could accurately record this circumstance. The Valencia players decided to leave the field of play in protest at what happened.
The meeting was interrupted for almost twenty-five minutes, until the Valencia players returned to the field of play, although they did so without the presence of Diakhaby, who was substituted,
Later, after the break, the one who did not appear was Cala, the one accused of the insults by Diakhaby, who insisted after the meeting on the insult received.
The match referee, David Medié Jiménez, wrote in the minutes that in the 29th minute of play he interrupted the match “due to a confrontation between players from both teams & rdquor ;.
“Valencia CF player No. 12 Mouctar Diakhaby, once admonished for arguing with an opponent, tells me verbatim:“ He called me a shitty nigger & rdquor; in reference to the player No. 16 of Cádiz CF, Juan Torres Ruiz & rdquor ;, he continued.
“This fact was not perceived by any member of the refereeing team. After a few moments, Valencia CF decides to leave the pitch. For this reason the match is temporarily suspended. Both teams are introduced to their respective changing rooms & rdquor ;, continued the referee of the contest.
“After a few minutes of suspension, the Valencia CF delegate, David Rangel Pastor, in the presence of the Cádiz CF delegate, Antonio Navarrete Reyes, informs us that they have decided to substitute player No. 12 Mouctar Diakhaby and continue with the match.& rdquor;, twenty-four minutes after its suspension, adds the minutes.
Later, there were controversies, with different opinions on the matter, and the Competition Committee closed the case in June when considering that the facts were not proven.
