Charlie Hebdo attack trial: 30 years of imprisonment required against the companion of Amedy Coulibaly

The national anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office on Tuesday requested thirty years of criminal imprisonment against the fugitive partner of Amedy Coulibaly, Hayat Boumeddiene, tried by default at the trial of the January 2015 attacks against Charlie Hebdo and the Hyper Cacher. The prosecution requested a two-thirds safety period against the young woman, believing that she had played an “important role” in the preparation of the attacks.

“She has never denied the merits of her husband’s action” and “has become an instrument of propaganda” of the Islamic State group, argued the prosecution.
