The last death last May
A gradual increase in cases of coronavirus is recently observed in China. Health officials have announced that the country has recorded its first death linked to Covid-19, for eight months, reports the newspaper 20 minutes. “This death occurred in Hebei province“, specified the National Commission of Health, without giving more details. Several cities in this province were recently subjected to a containment, after the discovery of the positive cases, notes the newspaper.
According to the official report, 4,635 patients have now died from Covid-19 in China, since the start of the pandemic. In addition, health authorities in China reported 138 new positive cases on Thursday. This is the highest daily toll since last March.
Nearly 2 million deaths worldwide
The news comes as a team from the World Health Organization (WHO) begins its investigation into the origin of the coronavirus pandemic in Wuhan.
So far, at least 1,963,557 deaths linked to coronavirus are listed in the world, according to a report established, Wednesday, January 13, by theFrance Media Agency, relayed by the newspaper The world.
Despite the restrictive measures applied by many countries around the world, more than 91.5 million people have been infected. With almost 381,000 dead and nearly 23 million positive cases, the United States is the country most affected by the pandemic.
