The Coronavirus pandemic has brought the world to a halt. In nursing homes, many couples have been separated to limit the spread of the virus. This is the case of Joseph and Eve Loreth, married for sixty years and separated for eight months. And one thing is certain: their reunion is balm in the heart.
These two lovers, aged 80, got married after meeting at school. During all these years, they have lived together, hand in hand, without being separated. But last March, when Joseph was admitted to hospital to have part of his leg amputated, their daily lives were turned upside down. For nearly 215 days, Eve was not allowed to visit her husband.
Finally, after eight long months of separation, Joseph was able to reunite with his wife in their retirement home in Florida. Their tender and moving reunion was filmed by a member of the nursing staff. On its Facebook page, the Rosecastle at Delaney Creek residence shared these few words:
“We got to see these two loving residents reunite and kiss for the first time since the start of the pandemic. Get out your handkerchiefs! “
Since its publication on October 15, the video has toured the web and continues to move thousands of Internet users.
