MEXICO – Agustín González Chavarín, known as “Don Guty” or “El 14” and one of the six main regional operators of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel was captured by elements of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) and the Army in Jalisco.
The detainee was already linked to the process by a federal judge based in the East Prison, linked to crimes of organized crime in its form of drug trafficking, mainly fentanyl, the Attorney General’s Office reported in a statement.
The apprehension of who is considered one of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes’s closest operators, “El Mencho,” the leader of the CJNG, occurred on November 13 in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.
According to the statement, military and Criminal Investigation Agency personnel led the arrest during an operation in which two short firearms, five magazines and cartridges, as well as a vehicle, and two plastic bags with fentanyl pills were seized.
“Don Guty” has two arrest warrants in Jalisco for the crimes of kidnapping and homicide.
According to the investigation, the detainee led the entire mountain region of the northern coast of Jalisco and through the use of extreme violence he had subjected various populations in that area, causing terror and deaths.
Even without its leader, “El Marro”, it warns that it will not yield to the Jalisco Cartel.
Due to the trust and closeness with “El Mencho”, “Don Guty” was directly responsible for controlling its logistics, as well as supplying armored vehicles, weapons and high-power ammunition for his personal escort.
The communiqué details that among the main illicit activities carried out by “Don Guty” is the purchase of high-powered weapons in the United States to send them directly to members of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel in Michoacán.
In addition, he was in charge of the production, distribution, transportation and sale of drugs in the coastal region of Jalisco, and the transfer of drugs from Central and South America to the United States as their final destination.
