Dallas : More than 2,000 fighting cocks found in Southern California police operation

Investigators with sheriff’s department community associations issued the search warrant around 7 am on the multi-acre property north of the Ronald Reagan Highway (118), according to Officer Juanita Navarro-Suárez of the Sheriff’s Department of the County of The Angels.

The search was part of “an investigation into animal cruelty and possession of game birds for the purpose of fighting” conducted by the Sheriff’s Department, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and the Department of Animal Care and Control of Los Angeles County.

Several occupants of the property were detained, Navarro-Suárez said.
