DAY It is up more than 28% this Monday. The company has announced that it is expanding its online shopping service to meet growing demand. For it, has converted 8 stores, 5 in Madrid, 1 in Seville, 1 in Cádiz and 1 in Malaga for the exclusive use of online order preparation. These stores join the other three that the company had: 1 in Madrid and 2 in Barcelona.
In order to respond to the high demand, the company has reinforced its workforce by 1,000 people, especially from order picker profiles, better known as ‘pickers’ and home delivery staff. On a technological level, Technical improvements have been implemented on the dia.es website in order to ensure performance.
DIA has said that this reinforcement has been possible thanks to the extensive network of local stores, its logistics, commercial, technological and human resources network, and the joint work of many areas, which have enabled this project to be launched in just a few days.
AGREEMENT WITH GLOVO
DIA and Glovo have reached a collaboration agreement to deliver home orders from a network of 500 DIA stores distributed throughout the Spanish geography.
With this agreement, DIA reaches 494 towns with its online service, which means extend the range to 54 new populations, which represent 2.5 million people. Consumers can access the service through the dia.es website or through the Glovo App itself.
Both companies have reinforced hygiene measures using gloves and masks in the preparation and delivery of orders. The delivery person leaves the purchase at the customer’s door at a security distance of two meters and is responsible for signing the order on your behalf, eliminating any physical contact.
This alliance joins the one that DIA previously had with Amazon Prime Now.
