After having triumphed among specialized critics when it was premiered at the Venice Film Festival, Dune – 80% has reached some countries and is surprising the public. The film is a new adaptation of Frank Herbert’s science fiction novel that marked an entire generation. Since its release in 1965, the book has been a bestseller and is considered a classic, but previous film and TV adaptations have fallen short of the original work. It seems that the Denis Villeneuve tape is.

Like any complex and very extensive literary work, taking it to the big (or small) screen is a challenge; It is much easier and more common to fail than to succeed because of such an ambitious company, but Villeneuve had films in his career that showed great talent for the genre, such as La Entrada – 94% and Blade Runner 2049 – 88%. Luckily for fans who have not seen it, most critics had positive words about the film, and now the lucky ordinary viewers who have already seen it in the cinema have similar opinions.
Some call it a “masterpiece” and others say it is a “unique experience”. The performances, the soundtrack and the visual effects stand out, which, as in Blade Runner 2049 they are a combination of practical special effects with computer generated effects (CGI). In the cast Dune features performances by Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling, Oscar Isaac, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, and Jason Momoa, among others. The music of Dune is composed by Hans Zimmer, recognized for the Gladiator soundtracks – 76%, Batman: The Dark Knight – 94%, Interstellar – 71% and Blade Runner 2049.

According to the Internet Movie Database (IMDb), Dune It has already been released in several countries such as Belgium, France, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, Spain and Finland. For it to arrive in Latin America we will have to wait until October 21, and a day later it will be available in the United States, with a simultaneous release in theaters and HBO Max.
Even if the movie’s box office is low, Warner Bros. could give the sequel the green light if it hits HBO Max. But the best thing that fans who want to see more of this universe can do is go to the movies. Here are some of the reactions of those who have already seen the tape:
#Dune is one of the biggest, most epic, and most beautiful movies I’ve ever seen. It was crazy to see her on the big screen, with Hans Zimmer’s soundtrack blasting through the speakers. I left the cinema completely shocked and hungry for more. Bring on Part 2 !!

I watched #Dune today and really loved it, but it felt like half the story, which it is. Please God make this a success, so I can see the second half. Support your local cinemas. Go see it, I really recommend it!

After years of waiting, I finally saw #Dune by Denis Villeneuve and it is a sublime adaptation of Herbert’s work and a great movie in its own right. A unique experience sublimated by the cinema experience so please support the film as the future of the series depends on it.

I had the pleasure of seeing DUNE today, an amazing cinematic achievement by Denis Villeneuve. It manages to address the compelling themes explored in the original novel incredibly well, accentuated by the stellar performances of the cast. Chalamet is perfect as Paul Atreides.

Denis Villeneuve’s #Dune is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. It is truly a masterpiece by definition, and a faithful adaptation of the original material down to the smallest detail. It was everything I wanted it to be and more. Oh, and one more thing … GO SEE IT ON IMAX!

#Dune I LOVED IT.
It is one of those films that takes its time, that goes without haste, and with that they have already bought me.
The photography, the CGI, the OST … Everything is at a very high level in my opinion.
Villeneuve works magic, and leaves it there for whoever is willing to dream it. pic.twitter.com/7SkExpNafl

#DUNE is an epic of enormous magnitude.
Wonderful adaptation of Frank Herbert’s novel with memorable visuals.
Both Zimmer and Villeneuve manage to take the viewer into this gigantic world and make you want to know more

Villeneuve has worked the miracle. He has taken the inadaptable “Dune” and has put up a first half that is a huge symphony of extremely powerful images to be enjoyed on the big screen. An instant masterpiece, a model communion between auteur cinema and blockbuster. pic.twitter.com/ZJWttZwBaL

I just saw #Dune and it is an extraordinary movie. Each character is very well developed and the story is very well spun. The CGI is not noticeable at any time and leaves you with a lot of HYPE for the sequel pic.twitter.com/QuAw9l60ju
