Match corresponding to matchday 10 of the Ukrainian Premier League, played at the NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium.
The Kiev team dominated the game from the start, preventing Shakthar from having chances. Those of Lucescu enjoyed the clearest chance of the clash in the 10th minute, with a shot from Carlos de Pena that crashed into the left post. As a result of the clear local occasion, the match was full of interruptions due to the aggressiveness of both teams. The tension to win against the league’s greatest rival was reflected in the green.
Dinamo had chances to open the scoring, but the Kievites were not right on target. They were correct on the defensive plot, leaving the attack of Shakthar Donetsk dry, who failed to shoot on goal throughout the match.
Dinamo Kiev will face Barça on October 20 on matchday 3 of the Champions League. Those from Donetsk, meanwhile, will face Real Madrid on October 19.
