(. Spanish) – An earthquake of magnitude 6.8 shook Greece in the early hours of Friday (local time), according to reports from the United States Geological Survey (USGS, for its acronym in English).
The seismic focus was located 16.6 kilometers deep and the epicenter was located 35 kilometers northeast of Lithakiá (on the island of Zante) and 133 kilometers southwest of Patras.
Minutes later, a 5.2-degree aftershock was recorded.
