Two earthquakes were recorded in eastern Tennessee on Wednesday morning.
(.) – Two earthquakes occurred Wednesday morning near eastern Tennessee, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported.
The earthquakes were felt near Decatur, Tennessee, the USGS said. The first, of preliminary magnitude 4.4, occurred at 4:14 am local time.
A preliminary magnitude 3.3 quake was felt soon after, at 4:27 am local time.
The earthquakes were felt in several neighboring states, such as Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Alabama, and South Carolina.
Residents near the quake epicenter saw photos and other objects fall, the Meigs County Sheriff’s Department said.
