Marvel managed to unify his heroes under the UCM, but as the years passed it became clear that it was necessary to expand its reach to television. This year they premiered in Disney + titles like WandaVision – 95% and What If …? – 84%, which are official part of the canon, but true fans know that years ago other projects of the company went through the small screen with success. Lately there is a lot of talk about the series of Netflix, as a good part of the public wants to see Charlie Cox return as Daredevil, but we must not forget that the mutants also did their fight before Fox was acquired by Disney. Legion – 90%, starring Dan Stevens and Aubrey Plaza, premiered successfully in 2017.

The series was quite psychedelic and crazy, but the story was very interesting and the scripts were always very clever. Legion told the story of David Haller, a man diagnosed with schizophrenia who turns out to be a mutant with exceptional abilities. During its broadcast, much was said about a possible appearance by James McAvoy, who then played Charles Xavier in the tapes of Fox. This did not happen, although we did get to see the character in some episodes. After what Disney bought the company, fans have speculated about possible ways to introduce mutants into the UCM, and some consider that Legion could be a good option.
When the production of Eternals was confirmed, there was no shortage of who questioned Dan Stevens about a possible return of David Haller. Now, with the premiere of the film very close, the idea of seeing the actor in the UCM, and rumors spread that he would be cast as an element of surprise. In a recent interview with Collider, the actor was asked directly if he would appear in Chloé Zhao’s project to which he simply replied:
Making a play on words between “no comment” and the name “Kro”, many have already started to make theories.
Stevens’s comment can be taken as a simple joke to begin with, but assuming he is actually saying something it seems to indicate that if he does appear in Eternals He won’t be like David Haller, which is a disappointment for those who are looking forward to mutants. Instead, what could be is that the life actor, or rather voice, the villain Kro, who in the comics has a complicated romance with Thena, the character played by Angelina Jolie.

Kro is usually presented as the leader of the Deviants, enemies of the Eternals group. In the comics he is married to Thena and is the father of her twins, but their relationship is quite complicated because they are on opposite sides and do not usually stay together for long. Kro is immortal, strong and very powerful; He is also capable of healing very quickly, but what is really interesting in this context is that he has the ability to shapeshift. In fact, for a time he disguises himself as the Devil to manipulate humans, and if we take Stevens’s reference for granted, it could be that we see him pretending to be a human that the actor can play.
In the first preview of Eternals there is a moment where the character of Thena is seen in a kind of trance in the arms of who seems to be Kro. However, so far we have not heard the voice of the enemies, so it cannot be certain whether or not it is the actor’s job. The story of the film is kept secret, but the heroes seem to lead a relatively normal life among humans, so we could be facing one of those cases where Stevens brings Thena’s husband to life and then it is revealed that he is the villain in disguise.
Of course, it could also be a simple joke by Stevens and is that any actor who in one way or another was part of the stories of Marvel will always be questioned about a possible return or participation in the UCM. Also, as much as they say they don’t know anything, fans will never believe them, so turning denial around by implying that they will have a different role in a movie is an interesting way to deal with constant questioning.
