The excitement is mounting in Katanga, where tensions between Kasaians and Katangans have been fueled since the arrival in Lubumbashi of ex-President Joseph Kabila, on the defensive since the overthrow of the office of the National Assembly led by Jeanine Mabunda, the December 10, and the subsequent desertion of many members of the kabilist coalition FCC (Common Front for the Congo) towards the Sacred Union of Félix Tshisekedi, a Kasaïen.
