SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Bass Pro Shops Family Summer Camp features free fun games for kids, activities and workshops where families can learn the skills they need to enjoy great outdoor adventures together. It begins Saturday, June 24 and continues through Sunday, July 23 at Bass Pro Shops located across the United States and Canada.
During the Family Summer Camp event, free workshops, which are conducted by store experts, will be held from 12 noon to 3 p.m. every Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday June 24-July 23. The entire family will enjoy learning the basics of camping, fishing, shooting and archery. Other workshops include hiking and backpacking, water safety for boating and kayaking, and learning about animals in the wild. All workshops are approximately 20 minutes in length and kids will get a free lanyard and then earn a free, collectible pin for every workshop completed. When kids have finished all six workshops they will receive a completion pin (while supplies last).

In addition, kids can try free craft activities such as coloring a camp bag, creating a wooden camp photo frame, planting grass seeds in a decorative pot, and painting a duck track magnet and a wiggle fish. A different craft activity will be featured each week on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, from noon – 2 p.m. (while supplies last).

This year, a new games area offers free family games such as Spikeball, Kan Jam, bag toss, ladderball and washer toss. Plus, these fun games are available for purchase at Bass Pro Shops stores.

*Anchorage, Alaska, Rocky View/Calgary, Alberta and Vancouver stores will offer a casting pond in lieu of the catch and release fishing pond.
