(Merced, California) – Families are invited to an open house Saturday for Valley Children’s newest primary care practice, Olivewood Pediatrics. The event features food, face painters, balloon animals and raffle prizes. Valley Children’s mascot, George, will make an appearance and the Greater Merced County Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m.
Olivewood Pediatrics in Merced specializes in pediatric primary care from birth to adolescence and is taking new patients. The team of physicians offers well exams, sick visits, immunizations, sports physicals and same day appointments. Most insurance plans, including Medi-Cal, are accepted.
Olivewood Pediatrics is located right next door to Olivewood Specialty Care Center, which has been providing sub-specialty services to families in Merced and Stanislaus counties. Historically, the Central Valley has had difficulty in meeting the medical needs of families due to a shortage of primary care physicians.
Valley Children’s has been a trusted name in Central California for more than six decades – giving families access to high-quality pediatric specialists and the Valley’s only children’s hospital. Building on this tradition, Valley Children’s also now provides pediatric primary care to families, closer to where they live, with primary care practices in Merced, Fresno, Hanford and Bakersfield.
