“Executive job vacancies are down 24% in New Aquitaine” (Danielle Sancier, Apec)

LA TRIBUNE – After a continuous increase in recent years, how has the executive employment market behaved in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in 2020?

DANIELLE SANCIER – The first two months of 2020 have been dynamic with a high volume of job vacancies published in the region, in line with our forecasts. Then the crisis arrived and, in the end, over the whole of 2020, nearly 23,000 job offers were posted on our site for positions located in the region, which represents a decrease of -24% compared to 2019! This is significant but Nouvelle-Aquitaine has nevertheless resisted better than other territories since the trend is -29% at the national level and, for example, -36% in Ile-de-France, -30% in Occitanie or even -25% in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Only Pays-de-la-Loire is doing better with a fall contained at -23%. The diversified economy of the region has made it possible to attenuate the shock compared to Occitania which is more single-sector.

In terms of recruitments actually made, we should measure at the national level a drop of around -30 to -40% compared to what was expected by companies. But we do not yet have the final figures even if we know that the second containment had less impact than the first on the number of offers published: -10% in November against -25% overall. of the year.
