The Colombian striker Radamel Falcao, who will play this season at Rayo Vallecano, arrived in Madrid this Friday to face a “challenge” with the Madrid team, with which he hopes to make his debut in a week against Getafe in what will mean his return to the League eight years later.
Falcao landed on the afternoon of this Friday at Madrid Barajas-Adolfo Suárez airportOn a private flight, and upon arrival in the Spanish capital, he assured that he was “struck by this challenge” in his sports career.
“At this point in my career it is a great opportunity and going back to the league also seemed very interesting to me. Hopefully I can play next weekend, “the Colombian forward told the media after his arrival in Barajas.
Falcao arrived in Spain after attending international commitments with his team, with which he played in the last eight days the qualifying matches for the 2022 World Cup against Bolivia, Paraguay and Chile.
Rayo is working and hopes that next Monday, September 13, he can present the player, although the date has not yet been officially confirmed. The objective is for the Colombian to join the work dynamics with his teammates that same day to be available against Getafe the following day.
“From my point of view, we are talking, along with Hugo Sánchez and Pelé, one of the three best spikers in the history of football. It is a privilege to be able to see him at Rayo Vallecano and in LaLiga. We hope you can respect the injuries and can give a good performance“, said this Friday the president of the club, Raúl Martín Presa, at an awards ceremony in the Madrid town of Alalpardo.
In addition to Radamel Falcao, another Colombian footballer will also join the team dynamics next week, goalkeeper Iván Arboleda, who signed his contract with Rayo a few days ago and has not yet trained with his new teammates.
