Formula One : Renault, podium in the viewfinder!

Formula One :

Daniel Ricciardo 4th with the fastest lap in the race, Esteban Ocon 5th. The Renault team was imperial in Belgium. An overall result which allows him to ambition even better at Monza this weekend.

“What a race and what an excellent result for the team! Daniel Ricciardo didn’t have to force himself to put on his best smile at the end of the Belgian Grand Prix. The Australian enjoyed himself until the last lap of the race. “It has been a long time since I had the fastest lap in the race, so I am also delighted. My engineer gave me the fastest time and I said to myself “I’ll take care of it”! It was a great effort. I used the full width of the trail and gave it my all. It was perhaps even better than my qualifying round, ”he jubilated afterwards.

The best lap in the race, a great reward

Same story for Esteban Ocon who pulled out to finish 5th thanks to a final overtaking in the last lap on the Red Bull of Alexander Albon. “It’s fantastic for the team to finish fourth and fifth. We were fast all weekend and we fought with the best cars ”, explains the Frenchman who, like the whole team, is obviously looking towards Monza. A circuit that should allow Renault to stand out.

The dream of a podium at Monza

And with 23 points collected, Renault has made a leap forward. While still 6th, the team is only 9 points behind McLaren 3rd! A podium in the constructors’ standings from Monza is not impossible if everything fits together perfectly. “It’s positive to see that the car is performing well on these circuits and we can go to Monza being ready to do it again”, warns Ocon. More than ever, the two pilots feel their wings growing and necessarily dream of doing even better on Sunday …

Desires for the podium, not only in the constructors’ standings, which will therefore have the perfect weekend but also success.
