Funimation Mexico premieres for December 2020

Funimation announced this Saturday, through a special broadcast called Will Your New Anime Arrive, the names of six productions that will be added to its catalog in Mexico and Brazil during the month of December. These are five series airing this fall season on Japanese television, as well as the band’s concert FLOW that took place at the Makuhari Messe convention center last February.

It’s important pointing that Funimation does not specify an exact date for the launch of these titles on the platform.

“We worked hard to launch the service last month in Mexico and Brazil, with more than 1,500 hours of anime, thousands of subtitled episodes and a select number of exclusive dubbing that will only be available on the web. And we’re just getting started, we already have plans to add a lot of new content (…) We know you’re super excited for Attack on Titan: Final Season. The first episode airs on December 7 in Japan, so stay tuned on our social media to stay up-to-date on when we will deliver the subtitles and exclusive dubbing. Our fall simulcasts will debut this month. ”

Josellie Ríos, Manager and Audience Strategist, Funimation

In the specific case of Attack on Titan: Final Season, Funimation has already confirmed the simulcast of the first episode in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Ireland, that is, only a few hours after its broadcast in Japan. It will be necessary to see if the same thing happens in Mexico and Brazil in the next few hours, or if subscribers from both nations will have to wait a few extra days or weeks to see the episodes.
