We thought it was all invented in the world of street advertising, but 3D billboards are a real sensation in Asia.
If these days you travel to the city of Chengdu, in China, famous throughout the world for its Giant Panda Conservation Center, you can enjoy a spectacular 3D billboard with the character of Barbara, from the popular game Genshin Impact.
Normally to generate a 3D effect you need glasses, or an augmented or virtual reality device. But this 3d mailer seen with the naked eye … only from a certain angle.
The spectacularity of a screen over 20 meters long, together with the three-dimensional effect that it generates, produces an impressive image that makes people crowd in the street to see it, as you can see in this video:
It’s actually about a flexible flat screen covering the corner of a building.
The 3D effect is only visible if seen from the corner, as the camera is on. If the angle is changed, the three-dimensional vision disappears and only a giant flat screen is visible. It is what all those people who are below the ad are seeing.
It’s huge 3d billboard It has been released to celebrate the first anniversary of Genshin Impact, a free game of Chinese origin available for mobile phones, consoles and PC, which is taking the world by storm.
But this advertising phenomenon does not happen only in China. In Japan, three-dimensional advertisements are also becoming very popular, such as this spectacular giant cat the size of a building, which looks like it is going to jump on you:
It has been created by the Japanese company Cross Space, and can be enjoyed at the exit of the Shinkuku subway station, in Tokyo.
As the creators themselves explain in the press release: “The giant 3D calico cat created with the quality of a Hollywood movie will bring surprise, laughter and relaxation to nearby passersby.”
This 3D LED display has a 4K resolution, and broadcasts 18 hours a day. All broadcasts begin first thing in the morning showing the calico cat waking up from her sleep (and almost fell off the building, as you can see at the end of the video).
New version of Oculus Quest 2 with 128 GB of storage. Autonomous virtual reality without the need for cables, PC, or console, to enjoy anywhere.
During the day they are emitted music videos, advertising, news, and even TV shows. When the day is over, the cat goes to sleep.
A very curious and spectacular idea. Will we ever see it in Spain?
