Guillermo del Toro is one of the most recognized directors in the world today, all thanks to his incredible work in the fantasy genre. From a very young age, the man from Guadalajara developed a specific taste for the monstrous, a hobby that he turned into his life’s work and that has led him to the greatest experiences of the seventh art. During a recent social media interaction, the director confirms that he has written 33 movie scripts and that most of them have not been recorded. In the following paragraphs we discuss all the details.

With an amazing debut under the title of Cronos – 89%, Guillermo del Toro he was making his way in the Mexican and American film industry. In the following years he wrote and directed films such as Mimic – 61%, El Espinazo del Diablo – 92%, Hellboy – 81%, Pan’s Labyrinth – 95%, Pacific Titans – 71% and many more. But the dreams of the Mexican are much bigger than we imagine: his work as a screenwriter is spectacular and in his personal library he still has many stories that have not had the opportunity to be transferred in front of the camera. Here his words:
By my count, I have written or co-written around 33 feature films. Two or three made by others, 11 made by me (Pinocchio in progress), so about 20 scripts are not filmed. Each requires 6 to 10 months of work, so it’s been roughly 16 years. Only experience and skills improve.
