As if it were an exhalation, Sebastien Haller entered the European football scene on Wednesday night, with his ‘poker’ in Lisbon to annihilate Sporting.
But who is the Ivorian tip? Many wonder. Well, the answer is simple: a goalkeeper, who has reached the elite at the age of 27 after passing through France, the Netherlands, Germany and England.
It has cost him his debut in the Champions League, but the wait has been worth it. Haller it began in the French Auxerre, at that time in the second division. After playing between the first team and the subsidiary, Utrecht recruited him to their ranks, in which he scored 55 goals in three seasons. The Eredivisie showcase helped him win a transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt, where in just two seasons he became a level striker in the Bundesliga.
A European semifinal
In the German box, Haller reached a semi-final of the Europa League, along with a forward to remember: Luka jovic and Ante Rebic. Only Chelsea, champion in the end, could with the German team, on penalties. In Frankfurt he only played two seasons, although he left a mark of 33 goals in those two courses. There came the siren songs of the Premier and West Ham took him away, although in the year and a half he spent in London, he never found his best version.
However, last winter, Ajax came to his rescue to once again provide him with a favorable environment that allows him to show off his best characteristics: a shot and a goal that already shine in the Champions League.
