US schools suspend and resume face-to-face classes
New York City resumed face-to-face classes for many of its younger students on Monday in what has become a frustrating and disrupted process in many school systems across the United States due to the alarming spike in cases of coronavirus. The largest school district in the country, which has one million students, had suspended face-to-face classes just two weeks ago, but decided to reopen its classrooms for preschool and elementary students under pressure from parents, and the mayor concluded that it was safe to do so hand in hand with an increase in the amount of dignostic tests.
